What Google Business Profile management covers
Your Google Business Profile is the box that shows up on Google Maps and in the map pack when someone nearby searches for what you do. It carries your name, hours, phone number, photos, reviews and posts. For most local businesses it produces more calls than the website does.
Google Business Profile management is the ongoing work of keeping that profile complete, current and active, and of building the signals around it that help Google trust it. It is not a one-time setup. A profile that was filled out once in 2021 and never touched again looks, to Google and to customers, like a business that might not be open.
Our GBP management service is built for owners who want that weekly work done for them at a price that makes sense for one location, without signing up for a full SEO retainer.
Why a profile needs work every week
Google rewards profiles that look alive. Three things tell it a business is active and relevant:
- Fresh activity. New posts, new photos, answered questions and recent review replies.
- Accurate information. Correct categories, services, hours, holiday hours and attributes, matching what your website and other directories say.
- Outside signals. Other websites mentioning your business and linking to it, especially local ones.
Most owners know this and still cannot get to it. Posting weekly, checking rankings across your area and writing articles is exactly the kind of task that falls off the list when the phones are busy. That is the gap Google Business Profile management fills.
What to look for in Google Business Profile management services
Google Business Profile management services vary a lot from one provider to the next, and the price alone tells you very little. Some agencies still call it Google My Business management, since that was the product's name until 2021. It is the same work. Whatever the name, look for four things before you sign:
- Published prices. You should know the monthly cost per location before the sales call.
- A report you can read. A rank grid and a list of what was done, every month.
- Manager access, not ownership. You should always remain the owner of your profile.
- No ranking guarantees. A promised position is a guess or a sign of risky tactics.
Good GBP management shows you the work. That is how our plans are built.
The two plans side by side
| Basic | Advanced | |
|---|---|---|
| Price per location | $150 a month | $299 a month |
| Keywords tracked | Up to 10 | Up to 10 |
| Rank grid | One a month, 5x5 or 7x7 | One a month, 9x9 |
| Competitors on the grid | No | Top 3 |
| Google posts | Weekly | Weekly |
| Local articles | 1 a month | 3 a month |
| Links to your site and profile | 2 a month | 6 a month |
| Review replies | No | Drafted for every new review |
| Photos, Q&A and hours upkeep | No | Yes |
| Citations and listing cleanup | No | Yes |
| Reporting | Monthly grid report | Monthly insights report and a yearly review |
| Setup | $199 per location, one time | $199 per location, one time |
Both plans start with a three-month initial term and then run month to month with 30 days notice. From your third location onward, each additional location is 15% off.
How the rank grid works
A single "you rank number 4" hides most of the story. Where you show up on the map depends on where the person searching is standing. A rank grid drops evenly spaced points across your area and checks your position at each one, so you see a map instead of one number.
- 5x5 checks 25 points. Good for a tight area such as one neighborhood or a small town.
- 7x7 checks 49 points. The right size for most single-location businesses.
- 9x9 checks 81 points. Best for a wide service area or a crowded market where you need to see exactly where competitors take over.
We run the grid monthly, not weekly. Map positions move day to day for reasons nobody controls, and a monthly snapshot shows the real trend without the noise. If you want the background, our guide on what a rank grid is and why your agency should show you one walks through how to read one.
Weekly posts
Every week we publish a post to your profile: an offer, a seasonal reminder, a job you completed, a new service, an event or a frequently asked question. Each one is written for your business, uses a real photo when you send us one, and links to the right page on your website. Posts keep the profile active and give customers one more reason to call you instead of the listing next to yours. Our guide to what to publish every week shows the kind of posts that work.
Local articles and links
Each month we write local articles about your business and your area and publish them on relevant websites. Every article links back to your website and your profile. Basic includes one article with two links. Advanced includes three articles with six links, aimed at local and industry sites near you.
These are real articles, written by a person for a reader, about your service and your area. No link farms, no spun text, no hundreds of throwaway pages. Links like these help Google connect your business to your location and your category, which is part of what decides who appears on the map.
What we will not promise
Nobody can promise a position on Google, and anyone who does is guessing or bending rules. What we promise is the work: a weekly post, articles and links every month, a grid that shows exactly where you stand, and a report that tells you what we did. Most profiles we take on show movement in the grid within the first three months, which is why the initial term is three months.
When to step up to Local SEO
GBP management focuses on the profile and the links pointing to it. If you need location pages written on your website, a strategist planning your market, review generation tied to your sales system, or a full competitive plan for several cities, Local SEO is the better fit. Many clients start here and move up when they are ready. Not sure which you need? Our comparison of Google My Business management and local SEO lays out the difference.
Getting started
- Add us as a manager. You stay the owner of your profile. We never ask for ownership.
- Setup in the first two weeks. We check categories, services, attributes, hours and photos, fix what is wrong, choose your 10 keywords with you and run the first grid.
- The weekly routine begins. Posts go live every week, articles go out each month, and your first report lands at the end of month one.
